Here are three things you should do after finding damage from water in your home. 

1. Start the Water Cleanup Process

The first part of the cleanup process begins by turning off the water source. If you have a broken supply line, turn off the main that supplies it. However, if the water came from a broken pipe, turn off the house's water main. Use a pump to remove the water and ensure that you drag the output hose as far away from the house as possible to ensure the water doesn't come back in. 

2. Contact Your Insurance Company

Insurance claims can be a lengthy, time-consuming process, so you don't want to delay contacting your insurance provider.
